DM40-2E BLDC Motor Driver

The DM40-2E is a compact three-phase BLDC motor driver for 24V robotic joints, actuators and embedded motion-control systems. The model-specific product table states a 24V (4S–6S) supply, 4A maximum continuous current and 10A peak current. This brushless motor controller combines a 200MHz Cortex-M4 controller, CAN communication, UART tuning, FOC, dual-encoder support and MIT, Speed and Position control modes.

  • Power: Use a regulated 24V-class supply within the 4S–6S range. The supplied DM40-2E table states 32V as the absolute maximum; this is not a recommended operating voltage. Leave suitable design margin and verify the received board revision before power-up.
  • Motor connection: Connect the three motor phases to U, V and W. Do not connect or disconnect the motor, encoder or power wiring while the board is energized.
  • Encoder configuration: The supplied information describes magnetic-encoder support and dual-encoder configurations, including dual magnetic encoders or one magnetic encoder plus Hall sensing. Confirm sensor voltage, connector order and firmware settings before use.
  • Temperature input: NTC is intended for motor-temperature sensing. Confirm the required thermistor value and protection thresholds for the selected firmware.
  • Communication: CAN is used for control, while UART is identified for tuning. The product images show a T/R/G tuning connector; confirm the CAN ID, bitrate, termination, protocol version and connector order before integration.
