The M5Stack Glass2 Unit adds a 1.51-inch transparent OLED to embedded products that need information displayed over a see-through panel. It uses the SSD1309 driver with a 128 × 64 blue monochrome display and communicates through I2C.
The default I2C address is 0x3C and can be changed to 0x3D through the reserved solder pads. Two interconnected HY2.0-4P Grove ports make it easier to place the display on a shared local I2C bus.
The active display area is 35.05 × 18mm and the glass panel measures 42.04 × 27.22mm. Use the screen for status text, icons, simple graphics, appliance interfaces, instrument windows, and transparent display prototypes.
Transparent OLED readability depends on ambient light and the scene behind the panel. Test font weight, icon size, enclosure lighting, viewing distance, and background contrast under the real installation conditions. For dense menus or data-heavy dashboards, a conventional opaque display may be easier to read.
The default 0x3C address can be switched to 0x3D by bridging the reserved solder pads. Update the firmware configuration after changing the hardware address and check the full bus address map before connecting other I2C devices.
