Key Features

  • 3 × A3144E unipolar Hall switches
  • 74HC08D onboard logic
  • Low-level active digital output
  • Red detection indicator LED
  • Supplied magnet for setup

The M5Stack Hall Unit detects a nearby magnet without mechanical contact, making it useful for door, lid, position, wheel-pulse, and rotational-event sensing. Three A3144E unipolar Hall switches feed onboard 74HC08D logic and produce a low-active digital output with a red indicator LED. Reliable operation depends on magnet pole orientation, alignment, enclosure material, and installed switching distance, so the final mechanism should be tested before thresholds or safety-related actions are assigned.

Detect Magnetic Position with the M5Stack Hall Unit

Sense a Magnet with Three A3144E Switches

The three unipolar Hall switches provide a contactless digital detection state when the correct magnetic pole approaches.

Read a Low-Active Digital Output

The onboard logic combines the sensor state into a low-level active output for a host GPIO.

Verify Magnet Orientation and Installed Distance

Use the supplied magnet and test the complete mechanical travel because pole direction, alignment, and mounting affect switching.

What You Can Build with M5Stack Hall Unit

  • Door and lid detection
  • Contactless position switches
  • Wheel-speed pulse detection
  • Rotational event counting
  • Magnetic proximity sensing

Integration and Workflow

  1. Mount the magnet and sensor so the correct pole approaches the intended face.
  2. Connect the Grove cable to a compatible digital input and confirm the low-active logic.
  3. Move the mechanism through its full travel and verify switching after final enclosure assembly.
  4. Apply debounce or stable-state timing before logging or acting on each transition.

Deployment Notes

  • The S pole should approach the front, or the N pole should approach the rear.
  • Switching distance varies with magnet strength, alignment, enclosure material, and temperature.
  • The output indicates magnetic proximity; it does not measure field strength.
  • The unit is not a certified guard switch or safety interlock.

How can I confirm product compatibility?

Check the product specifications, operating voltage, communication interface, dimensions, connector type, and software requirements before ordering. Compatibility may also depend on your controller, operating system, development framework, library version, and project wiring.

If you are unsure, contact us before purchasing and include your controller model, intended application, power source, and any other hardware you plan to use. We will help you identify the most suitable option, but we cannot guarantee that every product will work with every platform or project.

Does the product come with a warranty?

Warranty coverage may vary by product and manufacturer. If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or appears to have a manufacturing defect, contact us as soon as possible with your order number, product model, and clear photos or videos of the issue.

Our team will review the information and provide the appropriate next step according to the applicable product and after-sales policy. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, unsuitable voltage, unauthorized modification, soldering, misuse, or operation outside the documented specifications may not be covered.

How long does shipping take?

LogicBoundless provides worldwide shipping, with primary service coverage across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Orders are generally fulfilled from Shenzhen, China, and tracking information is provided after dispatch.

Processing and delivery times depend on product availability, destination, customs clearance, and the selected shipping service. Please review the Shipping Information page for the latest estimated delivery times and shipping conditions.

What is your return policy?

Eligible products may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Returned items must be unused, unsoldered, unmodified, and kept in their original condition with all packaging, cables, accessories, manuals, and included components.

Please contact support@logicboundless.com before sending anything back. Returns made without prior approval may not be accepted. Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the return is caused by a verified product defect or fulfillment error.

Can you help if I have a technical problem?

Yes. LogicBoundless provides practical technical guidance for product setup, wiring, power, communication, code, and configuration issues.

To help us understand the problem efficiently, please provide your controller model, wiring photos, power source, code, library or firmware versions, expected behavior, and complete error messages. We cannot promise that every component will work in every system, but we will help you identify the likely cause and the next practical troubleshooting step.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. We will try to assist before the order enters processing or is handed to the shipping carrier.

Once an order has been packed or dispatched, it may no longer be possible to change the products, delivery address, or shipping method. In that case, the standard return process may apply after delivery.
