M5Stack MAX31855 Isolated K-Type Thermocouple Unit

The M5Stack KMeter-ISO Unit combines K-type thermocouple acquisition, digital conversion, isolation, and I2C communication. It uses an STM32F030F4P6 controller, MAX31855KASA+T 14-bit thermocouple converter, and CA-IS3641HW signal isolation device.

The module supports K-type thermocouple probes across a specified -200°C to 1350°C range, while the included probe is rated for a narrower -50°C to 250°C range. The host reads temperature data through I2C at address 0x66.

Measure High Temperatures with Replaceable K-Type Probes

K-type thermocouples are widely used for ovens, heat-treatment equipment, power electronics, machinery, and industrial process monitoring. Choose the probe construction, insulation, connector, and rated temperature for the actual environment rather than assuming every K-type probe can use the module's full converter range.

14-Bit Conversion and Fault Detection

The MAX31855 path provides 0.25°C resolution and supports fault detection for conditions such as open circuit and short-circuit states. Use fault flags in firmware rather than treating every numeric reading as valid.

Isolated Signal Path

The CA-IS3641HW isolation device improves separation between the sensing and controller sides. Complete system safety still depends on thermocouple insulation, grounding, supply ratings, creepage and clearance, enclosure design, and the voltages present at the measurement point.

Validate the Installed Temperature Chain

Final accuracy depends on the thermocouple probe, cold-junction conditions, connector materials, cable routing, electrical noise, installation depth, thermal contact, and calibration. For process control or protection thresholds, compare the installed system with an appropriate reference method.

Technical setup details are available in the M5Stack KMeter-ISO documentation.

How can I confirm product compatibility?

Check the product specifications, operating voltage, communication interface, dimensions, connector type, and software requirements before ordering. Compatibility may also depend on your controller, operating system, development framework, library version, and project wiring.

If you are unsure, contact us before purchasing and include your controller model, intended application, power source, and any other hardware you plan to use. We will help you identify the most suitable option, but we cannot guarantee that every product will work with every platform or project.

Does the product come with a warranty?

Warranty coverage may vary by product and manufacturer. If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or appears to have a manufacturing defect, contact us as soon as possible with your order number, product model, and clear photos or videos of the issue.

Our team will review the information and provide the appropriate next step according to the applicable product and after-sales policy. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, unsuitable voltage, unauthorized modification, soldering, misuse, or operation outside the documented specifications may not be covered.

How long does shipping take?

LogicBoundless provides worldwide shipping, with primary service coverage across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Orders are generally fulfilled from Shenzhen, China, and tracking information is provided after dispatch.

Processing and delivery times depend on product availability, destination, customs clearance, and the selected shipping service. Please review the Shipping Information page for the latest estimated delivery times and shipping conditions.

What is your return policy?

Eligible products may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Returned items must be unused, unsoldered, unmodified, and kept in their original condition with all packaging, cables, accessories, manuals, and included components.

Please contact support@logicboundless.com before sending anything back. Returns made without prior approval may not be accepted. Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the return is caused by a verified product defect or fulfillment error.

Can you help if I have a technical problem?

Yes. LogicBoundless provides practical technical guidance for product setup, wiring, power, communication, code, and configuration issues.

To help us understand the problem efficiently, please provide your controller model, wiring photos, power source, code, library or firmware versions, expected behavior, and complete error messages. We cannot promise that every component will work in every system, but we will help you identify the likely cause and the next practical troubleshooting step.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. We will try to assist before the order enters processing or is handed to the shipping carrier.

Once an order has been packed or dispatched, it may no longer be possible to change the products, delivery address, or shipping method. In that case, the standard return process may apply after delivery.
